Rainer F. Jäckle
Rainer F. Jäckle was born near Cape Town, South Africa.
One week after his birth, he was taken to the picturesque Hartbeespoortdam
area, which is where he was going to spend the better part of his life.

Hartbeespoort dam surrounded by Magaliesberg range
He had a pretty nomadic childhood between Germany and South Africa.
Finally back in South Africa since the age of 10, he was free to take up his bonding process
with the African bush and the ancient Magaliesberg mountain range.
Since the same time he also cultivated an intense interest in minerals and gemstones,
which in turn resulted in a comprehensive knowledge of current and classic
mineral specimen occurrences of Southern Africa.
Aesthetics, textures, lusters, colours and shapes of different mineral species fascinate him
and his objective is to depict this in his paintings and to show the specimens, larger than lifesize,
so that the beauty of even the smallest specimen cannot be missed.
